Job Title: Salon Manager
Reports To: Salon Owner / Operations Manager / Area Manager
Supervises: Stylists, Therapists, Assistants, Receptionists, Apprentices
Job Summary:
The Salon Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the salon, ensuring high standards of service, staff productivity, and customer satisfaction. This role combines leadership, operational oversight, and client engagement to drive business growth and maintain a professional and welcoming salon environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Management & Development
- Recruit, train, and onboard new team members.
- Schedule staff shifts, holidays, and cover rotas to ensure full salon coverage.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and support career development.
- Assist staff with their core duties during the staff shortages
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and employment law.
2. Client Experience & Service Quality
- Ensure all clients receive excellent customer service and professional treatments.
- Manage customer complaints or issues with diplomacy and quick resolution.
- Maintain a friendly, welcoming salon atmosphere aligned with brand standards.
3. Sales & Business Performance
- Monitor daily and weekly sales, service targets, and stylist performance.
- Promote retail sales and upselling of services.
- Assist in implementing marketing promotions and loyalty schemes.
- Track KPIs such as rebooking rates, client retention, and retail-to-service ratios.
4. Operational Oversight
- Ensure the salon is clean, safe, and fully operational at all times.
- Oversee salon software, appointment scheduling, and reception functions.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.
5. Stock & Inventory Control
- Order products and supplies in line with usage and promotions.
- Monitor stock levels and conduct regular inventory checks.
6. Health & Safety Compliance
- Enforce hygiene and sanitation protocols for all services.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and legal regulations (e.g., COSHH, insurance).
- Keep accurate records for audits and inspections.
